The year 2024 marks the 25th Anniversary of Macao SAR and the enforcement of the Civil Code, Commercial Code and Civil Procedure Code. The Centre for Law Studies of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau plans to organize The 14th International Conference – “Studies on Civil Code, Commercial Code and Civil Procedure Code, Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Macao SAR”, and the “Studies on Civil Code, Commercial Code and Civil Procedure Code of Macao SAR, 2024”.
This Conference aims to analyze the importance that these codes played in ensuring smooth transition and subsequent economic growth in the development of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Additionally, the Conference will provide insight into how these codes can be adapted to changing social demands, while continuing to provide a robust legal foundation for future civil and commercial activities and justice administration. It will also respond to the new requirements of current times, reflecting national strategies and Macao’s plans, proposing directions for improvement and research.
This Conference will invite all scholars, researchers and professionals interested in related issues to participate and submit article. Selected candidates will present the full text of their work and participate in discussions during the Conference. If participants from abroad cannot be present in person, the possibility of participating via zoom can also be considered.
The “Studies on Civil Code, Commercial Code and Civil Procedure Code of Macao SAR, 2024” have the same purpose, and for this purpose all are invited, with the objectives of enlarging the participation and deepening the analysis of the proposed subjects.
The Conference and Studies submitted works will be considered for publication in the academic journal “Boletim da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Macao” after being approved by the respective editorial bodies.
