Introduction

The Faculty of Law of the University of Macau began to offer Master of Law Programme in Chinese Language in 2001.
The objectives of Master of Law Programme in Chinese Language is to enhance the academic level of jurists. The Programme will specifically satisfy the needs and aspiration for profound law studies of local and non-local jurists whose mother tongue is Chinese.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate an advanced and integrated understanding of the historical developments, theories, concepts and practical instruments underlying different legal traditions underlying the Chinese legal system;
  • Analyze the key facts, issues, reasons governing the laws and policies that underlie judicial decisions;
  • Interpret the legal principles and processes of diverse legal systems and their respective cultures;
  • Compile independent research on the governing laws and relevant secondary sources with a view of producing original academic work.
