On March 25th, Prof. Liu Jianhong, Distinguished Professor of Faculty of Law, University of Macau, was invited to give a keynote speech at the University of Oxford. The theme of his keynote speech was “Restorative Justice: The Chinese Paradigm”.
The speech explored how the distinctive nature of Chinese philosophical and legal cultural traditions, particularly Confucianism, impacts the development of restorative justice in China, and critically reflects on how the contemporary political and legal context interacts with the growth and practice of restorative justice.
This speech was presided by Professor Sir Malcolm Evans. This symposium, organized by the Regents’ Parke College, University of Oxford, from March 25 to March 26, was to present the most recent development of Restorative Justice with the most famous scholars from Europe, UK, and China.
