Introduction
The Programme is originated towards the knowledge of Macau legal practice and is aimed at boosting legal Portuguese proficiency at an advanced level. It intends to strengthen skills of legal practice and theoretical foundation in two languages.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes

- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the theories, historical development, and application of Macao legal systems;
- Write accurate and well-organized law-related documents;
- Identify the key facts, issues, reasoning, holdings, assumptions, and policies that underlie judicial decisions and independently analyze them;
- Reflect on the legal principles and processes of diverse legal systems and cultures;
- Communicate legal information and ideas for a variety of audiences and in a variety of contexts.
Admitted in or after Academic Year 2025/2026
- Understanding Legal Framework in Macau: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework in Macau, including its historical development, foundational principles, and contemporary legal structures.
- Critically analyzing Legal Issues: Acquire the ability to critically analyze key legal issues and challenges specific to the Macau legal system, including the interpretation and application of local laws and judicial decisions.
- Conduct independent research on Macau Legal Landscape: Develop proficiency in conducting independent research on Macau-specific legal topics, utilizing primary sources of Macau law, relevant secondary literature, and comparative legal analysis to produce original academic work contributing to the understanding of Macau’s legal landscape.
- Applying Macau Law in Practice: Apply theoretical knowledge of Macau law to practical scenarios, demonstrating the ability to interpret and apply local laws and judicial decisions to resolve legal problems within the Macau legal system.
