To encourage and commend teaching staff who have outstanding teaching performance in continuing education, Dr. Du Li was selected as the 2020/2021/2022 Best Teaching Award of the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) after the internal evaluation of the CCE. Dr. Du’s research and teaching interests include biotechnology law and policy, data privacy and protection, and regulatory issues of cutting-edge technologies. Dr. Du mainly teaches courses on personal privacy and data protection under the background of the big data era in the CCE. This course covers the legislation on personal data protection in Macao, mainland China, the European Union, and the United States, as well as the latest data compliance cases. The course starts with exploring the daily privacy and personal data protection problems students have experienced. Then, through lecturing on applicable laws and classroom case discussions, students can understand the importance of personal data and privacy protection in a digital society and recognize the regulatory challenges they face. Students highly rate the courses. Dr. Du also would like to express his gratitude to the CCE for its consistent support, which allows the legal knowledge and regulatory issues related to personal privacy protection to be disseminated and discussed among a wider community.
