On April 25, 2022, Professor Manuel Guilherme Júnior, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau, was appointed as the Rector of University of Eduardo Mondlane by the President of the Republic, Mr. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi.

 

Prof. Manuel Guilherme Júnior, is a Doctor of Law from the University of Eduardo Mondlane (2019);  a Master of Law from the Faculty of Law, University of  Macau (2008) under supervisions of Prof. Wei Dan; and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Eduardo Mondlane (2005).

 

Professor Manuel Guilherme Júnior was Director of the European Union Cooperation Office until he was appointed Rector. He was previously Director of the University Centre for Regional Integration Law; Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Zambeze University; Coordinator of Law Courses of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Católica na Beira University. He is also a professor and researcher at the Law School.

 

Professor Manuel Guilherme Júnior published the first volume of the Mozambican Business Law Handbook I (2003) and Mozambique State of Emergency Law (2020). He is author of several articles such as: Legal Protection of Mozambique Telecommunication Union (2011), Magazine for Faculty of Law of University of Macau, Multilateral Environmental Agreements and International Trade Facilitation (2014); The COMESA- SADC-EAC Tripartite Free Trade Area: New Regionalism and Lessons from the European Union (2016), Way-ZEI Paper nr. 29, Center for European Integration Studies.
